KAREN J. GUNTHER HONORED WITH
PRESIDENT'S AWARD BY
AMERICAN SOCIETY OF WOMEN ACCOUNTANTS
Award Announced at 2011 Annual Conference for Women in Accounting |
October 26, 2011 (McLean, VA) -- American Society of Women Accountants (ASWA) is pleased to announce that Karen J. Gunther is the recipient of the 2011 ASWA President's Award. ASWA's top honor is awarded to a member in recognition of her dedication, vision and impact. Gunther was presented the President's Award during the 2011 Excellence in Accounting and Finance Awards Luncheon during the 2011 Annual Conference for Women in Accounting.
"As a wonderful ASWA advocate and leader, Karen has had a huge impact on this organization, both at the local chapter level and serving in a national leadership role,” said Vivian Moller, ASWA 2010-2011 National President. "She expects and gets the best of people, nurturing and giving people confidence that they can do better than they think they can.”
Gunther is Vice President of Finance at Tropical Paradise, Inc., a juice and slush beverage company with domestic and international sales. She is a Past National President of ASWA, where she was instrumental in developing the organization's first multi-year strategic plan, setting the course for ASWA's current success. On the local level, Gunther is active in the ASWA Boston chapter.

Presented by ASWA and the American Woman's Society of Certified Public Accountants, the 2011 Annual Conference for Women in Accounting…Defining Value in All Areas of Accounting & Finance is underway in Charlotte, North Carolina, on October 24 – 26. More than 400 professionals from the accounting and finance industries are participating in educational sessions and networking opportunities.
