JULIANNE DORSETT TO BE HONORED WITH
EMERGING LEADER AWARD BY
AMERICAN SOCIETY OF WOMEN ACCOUNTANTS
Award to be Presented at 2011 Annual Conference for Women in Accounting |
October 13, 2011 (McLean, VA) -- American Society of Women Accountants (ASWA) is pleased to announce that Julianne Dorsett will be honored with a 2011 Excellence in Accounting and Finance Award. Awarded to an ASWA member age 35 or under, the Emerging Leader Award recognizes leadership, mentoring, and career achievement. Dorsett will be presented her award on October 25 at the Awards Luncheon during the 2011 Annual Conference for Women in Accounting.
"I am very proud to represent ASWA as this year's Emerging Leader, and without the Houston Chapter this would not be possible,” commented Dorsett. "I am blessed to have all of these wonderful women in my life. They have all made me a better person, and I will cherish them forever."
Julianne Dorsett is the Accounting Supervisor for PetroChem Inspection Services in
Pasadena, Texas. She joined the company in 2001 and currently supervises nine billing employees. Dorsett helped coordinated the company's SAP implementation and trains employees in the use
of SAP. An ASWA member since 2005, she has held the position of Treasurer for two years, Vice President for one year, President Elect for one year, and is currently serving her second term as President during the Houston ASWA Chapter's 60th Anniversary year. On the national level, she serves on the 2011 ASWA Nominating Committee.

Presented by ASWA and the American Woman's Society of Certified Public Accountants, the 2011 Annual Conference for Women in Accounting…Defining Value in All Areas of Accounting & Finance takes place in Charlotte, North Carolina, on October 24 – 26. More than 400 professionals from the accounting and finance industries will participate in educational sessions and networking opportunities. This professional development conference offers attendees the opportunity to earn up to 24 hours of CPE credit.
