HONORED AT ORANGE COUNTY REMARKABLE WOMEN AWARDS

American Society of Women Accountants recognizes Jennifer Cavendar, CPA, 
as Member of the Year at annual awards event for women business owners

IRVINE, Calif. – Jennifer Cavender, CPA, of Haskell & White LLP, was selected by the American Society of Women Accountants, Orange County Chapter (ASWA-OC) as the Member of the Year and was presented an award at the National Association of Women Business Owners, Orange County Chapter’s 2008 Remarkable Women Awards Luncheon. 

Among 24 businesswomen recognized at the 13th annual awards gala on Oct. 10, Cavender, a resident of Carson, Calif., was honored for her contributions to ASWA-OC, the business community and the accounting profession. She is president-elect and vice president of programs at ASWA-OC, and audit manager at Haskell & White LLP, one of Southern California’s largest independently owned accounting, auditing and tax consulting firms.

    "As a valued member of ASWA, Jennifer promotes the professional interests of women in accounting and is an example for others through her leadership in the organization and the community,” said Barbara Steelman, president ASWA-OC. "We are pleased to recognize Jennifer with the Member of the Year honor for her dedicated contributions to the growth and development of our Chapter.”

Cavender is a graduate of California State University, Fullerton, and joined the Haskell & White team in 2000. She became an active member of ASWA-OC, in 2005 and led the organization as communications secretary and vice president of special events prior to her current roles as president-elect and vice president of programs. Cavender is also a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, California Society of CPAs and the Accounting Chapter of CSUF’s Alumni Association.
