NAMED 2011 OUTSTANDING REGIONAL DIRECTORS BY
AMERICAN SOCIETY OF WOMEN ACCOUNTANTS
Awards to be Presented at 2011 Annual Conference for Women in Accounting
October 14, 2011 (McLean, VA) -- American Society of Women Accountants (ASWA) is pleased to announce that Christy McDonald and Renee Richards will be honored with 2011 Excellence in Accounting and Finance Awards. They will each receive the Outstanding Regional Director of the Year award for their demonstrated excellence in chapter communications, national committee participation, and conference attendance. McDonald and Richards will be presented their awards on October 25 at the Awards Luncheon during the 2011 Annual Conference for Women in Accounting.
Christy McDonald, Associate Director of Executive Placement at The Kemp Group, is the ASWA Regional Director for the Charlotte, Greenville and Raleigh chapters in North Carolina. She serves as the Charlotte New Chapter Mentoring Chair and also serves on the Raleigh New Chapter Mentoring and the National Membership committees. During the past year, McDonald has provided strategic and practical guidance for a brand new chapter as well as the reactivated Raleigh Chapter.
Renee Richards, Renee M. Simmons, PC, is the ASWA Regional Director for Billings, Montana and Portland, Oregon. She has served on the National Membership Committee. This year, she provided significant support to a struggling chapter. Described by her peers as an exceptional communicator, Richards provides each of her chapters personal contact, ideas, and encouragement.

Presented by ASWA and the American Woman's Society of Certified Public Accountants, the 2011 Annual Conference for Women in Accounting…Defining Value in All Areas of Accounting & Finance takes place in Charlotte, North Carolina, on October 24 – 26. More than 400 professionals from the accounting and finance industries will participate in educational sessions and networking opportunities. This professional development conference offers attendees the opportunity to earn up to 24 hours of CPE credit.
